SIDG is an association founded in 2024. As a neutral multi-stakeholder platform, SIDG promotes dialogue on internet and digital governance throughout Switzerland.

Membership is free and open to individuals and organizations. Members participate in electing the board.

Swiss IGF

Das Swiss IGF ist der nationale Ableger des UN Internet Governance Forum, des weltweiten Prozesses, in dem sich alle Anspruchsgruppen über die Festlegung der Spielregeln im Internet („Internet Governance“) verständigen. Das globale Internet Governance Forum wurde 2005 beim UNO-Weltgipfel der Informationsgesellschaft (WSIS) geschaffen. Seither haben sich spontan zahlreiche regionale und nationale Foren gebildet. Auf regionaler – d.h. gesamteuropäischer – Ebene wird der IGF-Prozess im Rahmen des EuroDIG geführt. Das Swiss IGF besteht seit 2015, wird von den anderen Stufen unabhängig organisiert und grundsätzlich jährlich durchgeführt.
